NIUE Vanilla International (NVI) was founded under the values of fair trade and ethical trading practices that will benefit both the company and local vanilla farmers. Without prior knowledge for vanilla farming, NVI first took form out from an act of kindness and empathy towards local vanilla farmers who required assistance. NVI pledges to always maintain a fair trade composure that ensures Niuean vanilla farmers will grow and expand alongside the company. Not only do we provide farming assistance to local vanilla farmers, we have successfully established a stable and realiable connection with the outside world to sell Niuean vanilla. NVI have also taken a further step forward and formed a partnership with Trade Aid, a non for profit retailer in New Zealand with years of fair trade experience. Trade Aid was also created on a social cause to provide trade justice to poor and developing communities around the world. We identified that this is a natural match for the company and an excellent benchmark on how genuine our fair trade practices can be. Our vision is to continuously provide assistance for our local community of vanilla farmers and to encourage a united effort to make NIUE a prosperous developing nation through vanilla cultivation.
